Biography Information
Barney Magrath is currently a resident of Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Originally he was raised in McCook, Nebraska along with three brothers and two sisters.  Along with his siblings he attended St. Patrick's elementary school until entering McCook High School.   After High School he took his adventurous spirit into the mountains of Colorado and began his "career" as a ski bum and a night cook.  Ski seasons at Steamboat Springs, Purgatory, Taos and Grand Targhee were survived and enjoyed to the fullest until he decided to become a responsible adult, raise a family and go to college at the University of Wyoming.

After earning a BS in Physics at UW he became a staff member of the Wyoming Infrared Observatory on Jelm Mt. 

In 1990 he was hired by the Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope corporation and began a long stay on the Island of Hawaii.   During this time he also worked for the Subaru Telescope on Mauna Kea.

  He now teaches skiing at Ski Santa Fe, in New Mexico, where he produces these fine art landscapes.  In addition he teaches Astronomy at the Santa Fe Community College.
