Quality monotone (black and white) Giclee' printing combined with the latest digital cameras is the reason that Magrath Photography can offer these new images. Without these mature technologies these new high dynamic prints would not be possible.
These prints are made with a large format Canon iPF8000 12 ink printer. It uses four of the black inks (Regular Black, Matte Black, Gray, Photo Gray) to achieve a depth of tones that you just have to see to believe. They are not printed with the "pantone" dark color ink palette.
The archival properties of the ink and paper combination leads to a print life of 300 years. The print is dry-mounted onto a 3/16 inch piece of acid-free black core Foamcor board. The print does not have a sprayed-on protective covering.
Each image is printed on heavy-weight Bamboo fiber Hahnemuhle paper (290 gm/square meter, 90% bamboo fiber, 10% cotton, natural white).
All prints are signed in black ink in a very unobtrusive style.
Framed images are covered with UV Plexiglas then wrapped in a polished black wooden frame. Outside frame dimensions are 26.5" x 14" . The dry-mounted print is displayed bottom heavy, by about 1/2 inch, inside the frame.
In addition framed images include an engraved metal title mounted on the wooden frame.
